Ancient Gauls believed that on October 31, or on the last day of Samhain, the boundary between the real world and the spirit world is very thin, so that the inhabitants of the unseen world can cross over into our universe.
In celebration of Samhain, usually on the population of ancient Gaul will hold a big celebration for their ancestors long dead and "invite" them to sit down to eat together, while the spirits or evil supernatural beings will be evicted from their homes.
To further complicate the evil spirits or supernatural beings spread the negative influences in their midst, then the population will be using a face mask with a bad or evil supernatural beings dress up as before, so that the evil supernatural beings was considered that they should not be disturbed and let go with a festive celebration .
